Silicone release coating
Polyester or polypropylene base film
Overview
PROASP coats solvent-based silicone onto polyester and polypropylene base films for pressure-sensitive adhesive applications. The film is developed around the adhesive system, the coating or laminating line and the finished product it has to protect — not selected from a fixed shelf.
Coating is applied in house, which keeps silicone laydown and release level under direct process control rather than dependent on a third-party coater. One-side (C1S) and two-side (C2S) constructions are available, with differential release on selected C2S constructions where the two faces need to behave differently.
Appearance is specified alongside performance: clear, ultra-clear and low-haze, medium-haze, matte and coloured options are available where the film has to remain visually acceptable in the finished product or support inspection during converting.
Two format families are supplied. Narrow-web spool and pancake reels run 19 mm to 55 mm on a 3 inch core, matching the tamper-evident tape and label lines. Wide-web rolls run to 720 mm for lamination and coating lines.

Release level is developed and held for the adhesive system in use, so peel behaviour stays predictable between rolls and across a production run.
Smooth, even silicone laydown
In-house coating keeps laydown uniform across the web, reducing the release variation that shows up as inconsistent die-cutting and matrix stripping.
High tensile and dimensional stability
Polyester and polypropylene base films hold their dimensions through coating, lamination and high-speed converting, supporting registration and clean edge quality.
Compatibility across adhesive systems
Constructions are matched to emulsion, hot-melt, solvent-based acrylic and UV acrylic adhesive systems rather than assuming a single chemistry.
C1S and C2S with differential options
One-side and two-side coating, with differential release available on selected C2S constructions for double-sided tape and transfer applications.
Finished to your line
Custom release levels, printing and slitting to your required widths and lengths, so the film arrives ready to run.

Ask a technical questionWhat release value can you hold?
Release value is developed against the adhesive system you are running rather than quoted as a universal figure, because the same coating behaves differently against emulsion, hot-melt, solvent acrylic and UV acrylic adhesives. Share the adhesive and the target peel range and a sample will be developed to work against.
Do you supply C2S with differential release?
Differential release is available on selected C2S constructions. Whether it suits your application depends on the two adhesive systems involved, so it is confirmed during development rather than assumed.
What widths and thicknesses are available?
Thickness runs 12, 19, 23, 30, 36 and 50 micron. Narrow-web reels are slit from 19 mm to 55 mm; wide-web rolls run up to 720 mm. Anything outside those ranges is confirmed on enquiry.
Can the film be printed?
Yes. Custom printing is available through eight-colour gravure, covering both functional marking and brand-facing artwork.
