Label, tape and flexible-packaging converters run pressure-sensitive constructions at speed, and the release liner is the component that determines whether the line stays stable. Release value has to hold across the web and between rolls, the base film has to keep its dimensions through coating and lamination, and the release system has to match the adhesive chemistry actually in use.
PROASP coats silicone in house, which is what makes release level something that can be developed against your adhesive rather than accepted as supplied. C1S constructions cover single-face label and tape work; C2S with differential release covers double-sided and transfer constructions where each face needs to behave differently.
For high-volume lines, changeover frequency becomes its own constraint. The 24,000 m spool format addresses that directly by carrying three times the running length of a conventional 8,000 m roll.
Inconsistent silicone laydown shows up as unpredictable peel force, poor matrix stripping and rejected labels. In-house coating keeps laydown under direct process control.
Base films that move under tension cost registration and edge quality. PET and PP constructions are selected for the dimensional stability the line requires.
A liner developed for one adhesive chemistry may not release correctly against another. Constructions are matched to emulsion, hot-melt, solvent-based acrylic or UV acrylic systems.
Every roll change costs the splice, the waste and the run-up back to line speed. Extended-length spool formats reduce how often that happens.
These are the properties that decide whether a material works in this sector — and the ones worth being specific about when you enquire.
A starting point, not a specification. Final suitability should be confirmed through technical discussion and application testing.
