Overview
MET is a metallised polyester release film with a silicone-coated release face and a bright, glossy metallised surface. It is coated in house, so laydown and release level sit under direct process control rather than arriving as supplied.
The metallised base gives the film a distinct visual identity in the finished construction, which is useful where the liner needs to be immediately recognisable on the line or where the appearance of the release face matters to the end product.
Standard rolls run to 8,000 m on a 3 inch core at roughly 14 inch outer diameter, in widths from 19 mm to 55 mm. Where a line is losing time to roll changes, the same construction is available in the 24,000 m spool-wound format.

Metallised polyester base
A metallised PET film provides the dimensional stability and the surface the release coating is applied to.

The release face is silicone-coated in house to a uniform laydown.

Winding to length
Rolls are wound to 8,000 m on a 3 inch core at approximately 14 inch outer diameter, in spool or pancake format.

Slitting to width
Width is slit to your requirement before dispatch, with edge guiding held through the wind.

Ask a technical questionWhat is the difference between MET and PET release film?
The base film. MET uses a metallised polyester base and reads as a bright silver surface; PET uses plain polyester and can be supplied clear, matte, coloured or low-haze. The silicone release face, the roll formats and the width range are the same on both.
Can you supply MET at our slit width?
Yes. Standard widths run from 19 mm to 55 mm and anything outside that is slit to your requirement. Share the width and the unwind equipment you run and the team will confirm the format.
What release value does MET run at?
Release value is confirmed against the adhesive system you are using rather than quoted as a single universal figure. Send the adhesive type and target peel range and a sample will be developed to work against.
Is MET the same as the 24,000 m spool product?
It is the same construction in a different format. MET is supplied as standard on 8,000 m rolls. The spool-wound format takes that construction to 24,000 m on one spool, which is where the changeover reduction comes from.
